Plyfix Contractor Terms

Version v1_2026_06_08 · in effect since June 8, 2026

These Contractor Terms apply to every contractor who signs up for Plyfix. You accept them by checking the “I agree to the Plyfix Contractor Terms” box during signup; signup cannot be completed without accepting them. Your acceptance is recorded on your account together with the version identifier shown above, so you can always tell which version you agreed to.

These terms are in addition to the general Terms of Service, which apply to all users. Where the two conflict on a contractor-specific point, these Contractor Terms control.

1. The five clauses

These are the five commitments that make up version v1_2026_06_08 in full. The web signup form presents all five, word for word as written here; other signup surfaces may summarize them, and this page is the complete text in every case:

2. Credential attestation

Signup also requires a separate confirmation that the credentials you selected — your trade, and whether you are licensed and insured — are accurate. Misrepresenting your license or insurance status is grounds for account termination and may have legal consequences. Plyfix does not independently verify credentials beyond this self-attestation; landlords are told the same.

3. How the per-job cap works

The cap limits the amount of a single job Plyfix will process payment for. It is enforced when the landlord pays, not when you bid, and it starts at $500. It rises to $1,500 after 5 completed jobs paid through Plyfix, and to $3,000 after 10. Plyfix may raise your cap sooner once your license and insurance have been reviewed. Completed jobs are counted from payments that succeed through Plyfix.

4. What you are paid

Your bid is what you receive. The Plyfix service fee is charged to the landlord on top of your bid — it is not deducted from your payout, and there are no lead fees or subscription fees for contractors. Contractors and tenants use Plyfix free.

Payouts are made through Stripe Connect to the account you set up in the app. You are responsible for keeping that account in good standing; Plyfix cannot pay you until Stripe has enabled payouts on it. If you work for a single landlord who pays you through their own payroll, you are not paid through Stripe and no payout setup is required.

5. Independent contractor status

You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, or partner of Plyfix. You control how, when, and whether you perform any job. Plyfix facilitates the connection between you and the landlord; the agreement to perform the work is directly between you and them. You are responsible for your own taxes, licensing, insurance, tools, and any workers you bring.

6. Defect claims

A landlord may raise a defect claim within the 90-day window described above. You agree to respond within 14 days. Returning to repair the defect at no additional cost satisfies the guarantee; if you prefer, you may instead refund the original payment. Plyfix may pause payouts related to an open defect claim while it is being resolved.

7. Termination

Plyfix may suspend or close a contractor account for misrepresented credentials, unresolved defect claims, or violation of these terms or the general Terms of Service. You may close your account at any time by contacting support@plyfix.com. Obligations that by their nature survive — the defect window on work already performed, and the chargeback clawback authorization — survive account closure.

8. Changes

If these terms change, the version identifier changes with them, and contractors will be asked to accept the new version. Your recorded acceptance always refers to the version you actually agreed to.
